Thomas asks…
How do you remove and replace an internal cd player into a Dell inspiron 1200 notebook?
I would like to replace my cd player with a cd/dvd burner. I believe that it should slide out without unscrewing.

admin answers:
There is a safety hole or lock to the right side of the cr-rom that a paperclip will fit in.push the eject button on the cd-rom then insert the paper clip in the hole and push the player should pop right out.

My internal CD/rom DVD writer isn’t working?
I have a dell PC, and recently I caught a virus and had to get it remove. When I got my PC back I put a CD in to burn a CD and the message on my library said , connect a burner. Before it went to office depot to be repaired the DVD burner worked good, not just the power light come on but nothing else. The writer doesn’t even turn the CD…

admin answers:
Turn off PC/laptop.
Disconnect CD/DVD drive, turn PC/laptop on, allow to boot fully, then turn off again.
Re-connect CD/DVD drive and turn on.
Windows will re-build the drivers or start the ‘Found new hardware wizard’.

Paul asks…
Can you upgrade a macbook from CD burner to DVD burner?
I have a macbook with a DVD player/CD burner and I would like to replace it with a DVD player/burner. I know some of the higher end mac books have this feature, I wonder if it would be too prohibitive to replace the exicting internal drive (the CD burner) with a DVD burner?

admin answers:
You would have to send/bring it in to Apple or one of it’s authorized repair centers for upgrading for a fee. Or you can just purchase an external DVD burner.
